2013 Audi S7 4.0T – C7.5 Facelift Conversion
This car came in contact with a deer and suffered minor front body damage. We performed the body repairs and took advantage of having the front end off to replace the water pump and thermostat. It was also showing engine codes that indicated turbocharger problems despite having only 53,000 miles (a recall is now available) .
For preventive maintenance we replaced the pcv oil separator, and removed the screens on the turbo oil return lines as their restrictive nature is known to cause premature turbo failure (now an updated revision and recall is available). It was more cost effective to replace the troublesome factory units with the SRM RS7 turbochargers, and a slight bump is power is always useful.
Instead of replacing the 2013-2015 S7 front end, the owner opted to upgrade to the newer 2016-2018 C7.5 facelift aesthetic. This vehicle required an extensive rewiring (40 hours) to the body control module array, and received many 2017 factory parts to complete the conversion (BCM, gateway, led modules, range control module, hood, headlights, brackets, bumper cover, grille, and more). This conversion is known as “practically impossible”, but however impractical, we were able to make it happen, along with the programming and coding necessary to ensure factory function with DRL, high beams, and turn illumination features.
To finish off the look we procured a set of rare European market 20” “Peeler” wheels for the customer, who opted for the 20” for ride comfort benefits over the 21” rims, finally the tail lights were smoked and shot with 2k clear coat for permanent good looks. An RS7 grill has been purchased, and is waiting to be installed in the near future.
This S7 Prestige features Atlas carbon fiber interior trim, and the rare luxury package with heated, cooled, and massaging seats.
The exterior is Estoril Blue Crystal Effect, the most desirable color for the C7, used for the original S7 launch in the Audi marketing materials.
