1985 Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole S/C
This was brought in by the original owner for a complete restoration and engine out overhaul with a one off custom supercharger fabrication and install. The customer had not used this car in almost 10 years as he knew it was due for timing belts and major service. While he enjoyed his SRT8 and his M3 convertible, he longed to return his gated shifter and flat plane crank to roadworthy-ness.
We removed hundreds of feet of wiring from a vintage sound system that had a parasitic drain and no functionality, and repaired fiberglass damage to the spare tire housing in the frunk. A full engine out and almost complete reseal of the engine and transaxle was performed with factory spares from Superformance UK and Ricambi USA.
A custom high performance radiator was fabricated by our friends at Pankeys, and we spec’d a custom carbon Kevlar multi puck clutch made for us by Fort Wayne Clutch and Driveline Fort Wayne, IN to handle the power of the Raptor Supercharger (Australia). A custom clear bra was hand cut to replace the fugly 80’s black leather bra, and numerous problems and damages were addressed to correct sloppy work done at various Ferrari dealerships! Modern amenities abound with a Zeitronix wideband o2 sensor data logging system and discrete Bluetooth integration.
There was more done to this vehicle over an exhaustive multi year restoration that can be written in a concise matter so we will summarize with the customers input after delivery: “It is better than new and I am so happy with the result after this long process”.
See this beauty in operation, and hear the sweet supercharged song in the video below.
The Mondial QV cabrio is a rare Cavallino, with only ~1300 units produced (out of ~14,000 Mondial models total).
